My First Etsy Treasury!

Hi everyone, after three attempts (daughter and OH had both managed to delete it before I saved it) I have managed to create my first Etsy Treasury! I don't know why I didn't discover this tool before, I've had so much fun choosing different items to go with my theme. It is Red and White Christmas and I picked out things for gifts and decorations. I just love those colours together for Christmas they just seem so cheerful. My Christmas buntings are made in these colours in my Etsy Shop.
Might try another Treasury, it's quite addictive to do!

Autumn Brooches

Hi just a quick post as I thought you might like to see my little felt brooches that were inspired by the falling Autumn leaves.

I love working with felt, it's so easy to use, you don't have to worry about fraying edges and the colour choice is amazing! I bought mine from Pixie Rose on Etsy
After the Leaves I made these cute Butterfly Brooches

Has anyone else been inspired by the Autumn colours?

Wednesday 29 September 2010

Well hello there, sorry for not posting for a while, I have been trying to come up with new things to make and it's been difficult to say the least! Why is it when you have time to create you just cannot think of all the ideas that you had when you were too busy to make them? What I have been working on is some designs for little pillows. I have so many pieces of Cath Kidston and Laura Ashley fabric left over from making bunting, I put them together to make these cushions. They are all appliqued and hand embroidered.
This one has 'Once Upon A Time There Was A Beautiful Princess' hand embroidered around it, I'm so pleased with how it has turned out, the muted colours and look of it.

Laura Ashley Esme fabric with Butterflies and Flowers.......

.......and just to remind of summer, a Cath Kidston Beach Hut cushion.

Cupcakes

Hi I have been busy making Cupcake themed items, thought you might like to see them.
Here are some buntings

A small tote bag for Little one to carry her sketch book in

This is a doorhanger, hand embroidered with a name to personalise it. I've sold a few of these already so I'm quite pleased.

They all have 'Shh...!' on the back so it can be turned around for bedtime!

I also made a doorhanger for a boy in a beach hut shape.

On the girls' version I've also done ones with 'a Princess sleeps here' so they can just be sold without being made to order, but I cannot think what to put on the boy's version! Any ideas?!!!

Garden pics

Hi everyone, here we are, as promised, some pictures from the garden. I have been playing around with the mosaic feature on Picassa, great fun! This collage shows the Hardy Geraniums, Poppy, Cosmos, pots with annual Geraniums, Heuchera and a gorgeous Sarah Raven Carnation called Moulin Rouge which has a beautiful scent. Shame you can't smell it through the computer!

These pics are of some of my homegrown vegetables. Our strawberries have done amazingly again this year, it's a pity I don't know the variety because they really are fantastic, the fruits were big and very tasty. The bottom right picture shows my 'pea shoots'. I don't know if you followed Alice Fowler's Edible Garden programme, but she showed you how to grow pea shoots from a 38p box of dried peas! They taste just like fresh peas and are a great addition to salads.

Most of the beans (runner, french and dwarf)have got black fly on them which seem to be everywhere this year, so I'm hoping it won't reduce the bean harvest.
But my courgettes are really getting into their stride and I have picked quite a few, same with the cucumbers, I shall take some pics of them for you.

Flying the Flag

Hi everyone, sorry it's been so long! But I have been so busy making things and keeping up with orders I just haven't had time to post. The garden is looking fab so pictures of it to follow.

My wedding bunting on ebay has been popular, with one lovely customer ordering 125 metres! That took a while to make and kept me busy while hubby was watching the football. Here is what it looked like

Hopefully I may get some pictures of it in the Wedding Marquee to show you.

Talking of football, it got me thinking of doing some Union Jack themed items which I thought you might like to see.
There are cushions

and bunting in traditional red, white and blue

and pink and green for something a bit girly!

Hope you have lots of sunshine!

Signs of Growth

Hi everyone, although the weather has become cooler, there are lots of little seedlings growing in the greenhouse.

Climbing Beans, Blue Lake

Globe Artichokes, Violetta di Chioggia

Tomatoes, Gardener's Delight

Beetroot

Peas,Onward

I had an idea to grow some salad leaves. If your a fan of those bags of salad in the supermarkets, it's well worth a go at growing your own. I borrowed a book about it from the library last year and then got lucky when the library had an old book sale in that I got it for 50p! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to grow salad, it's called Salad Leaves for All Seasons by Charles Dowding

This is my idea to grow some lettuces in an old bit of guttering placed on the greenhouse shelf! They are doing fairly well, hopefully the slugs won't reach them up there.:0)

Hope you all have lovely sunshine!
